Kid Rock Official Community

Hi everyone. I had some really good news today and I needed to share with ya'll. After a year and a half, I finally hit my 90 pound weight loss!!! I was so excited I had to check the numbers 4 times, lol. It was also a bit sad. After over a year, exercise partners have come and gone but one has been with me every step of the way. We've shared hours of Kid Rock and TBT, Kracker, Paradime, Guns and Roses, and others . Unfortunately, my partner has moved on. Let's have a moment of silence for my mp3 player. Yes, I dropped it and it's in peaces. It's going to be a long walk today. I also must say that if it was not for the music, I would not have made it so I have to give props to Kid Rock and TBT. Couldn't have done it without you! That's the truth.

You know what else works. When you go to a restaurant, get a take out box when your food arrives. Before you even take a bite, put half in the box. If it's not on the plate, you won't pick at it when your already full.

I went with weight watchers, which is basically eating healthy and exercise (although I put that off until about the last two months) with the accountability factor of checking in weekly. I had done it before and it worked, but since I didn't make it a permanent (sp) change I put it all back on and then some. I'm with you, I WILL NOT be putting the weight back on again. The humilation I felt totally changed my outlook on food and eating. Before my outlook was that I hadn't gotten anything I wanted from life, so I would be damned if I gave up eating what I wanted, when I wanted it and how much I wanted. After feeling humilated by my weight, I decided NO food, not even my beloved Tex-Mex, tasted good enough to compensate for the feeling of humilation. Not that I gave up my favs, just eat them less often and not as much of them at a sitting. I usually just order ala cart so I only get what I absolutely want and then don't eat everything else that comes with the meal.

Your loss is great too!! It is not a easy process and when you have a lot to lose it sometimes becomes just too easy to give up that why it's best to take in small increments like you said. We can't look at the final goal, but at incremental goals.

OMG Mimi! That is so friggin' awesome. Your my hero!!! How did you do it? Mine was the old fashioned way. Eat healthy and exercise. I tried almost everything else. Same ol' story, I'd drop about 30 lbs and then gain it all back plus. I WILL NOT gain the weight back.

WTG! That is a great accomplishment and not always easy. I know. It's taken me about a year and 3/4s to lose 103 lbs. I only have to lose 5 more to reach my goal, but it seems they are the hardest. It's great being able to do things you couldn't with all the extra weight. My motivating event was when I took my nephew to the Monster Truck show and my ass was to wide to sit back in the seats. Having to sit on the edge of the seat for two hours was humilating and for me humilation is a great teacher. Thankfully I had not yet had health issues because of the extra weight.
