It helps your own emotional well being for one...Chinese Feng Shui philosphy...the only real asset the Chinese offer us these days...their ancient life & home philosphies, hahaha.

It also matters to the kids, even though they're not there all the time. They don't always let us know how much they appreciate our decorating efforts...but they do. It's a family tradition, & traditions help bond, keep that bond strong. I could talk for hours about the emotional benefits of decorating our homes in all aspects...best stop now, haha. :)
