Kid Rock Official Community

I woke up Friday morning in Michigan and we were in Nashville by dark. What are the chances we are going to see Kid Rock accept the honorary plaque on Music City Walk of Fame tomorrow?

Well, if nothing else it's been a great weekend in a wonderful city... I got my fill of Southern hospitality and food (sweet tea, too).

I love, love, love Nashville...lived there for 4 years...awesome place and people too. Only moved away because my son's dad (my ex) had cancer and was living in FL. So we moved back to Florida to be closer to him. He is in remission now...thanks be to God! I visit Nashville often tho. Some of my closest friends still live there...the sweetness of the grass in Tennessee...guess that song...

Posting pictures! Great video add DetroitRocker - thanks! A couple of things I found interesting about the ceremony... 1. Kid was booed by a few people when introduced. He addressed this when he spoke and accepted the honorable induction to the Music Walk of Fame by saying "I understand why there were boo's mixed in with the applause" 2. Some of my fellow fans didn't fit into the crowd of spectators, which couldn't have been more than 200 hundred tops. Example: Next to me were 5 women, who said they had just left the bar, hooting & hollering, making a big scene, stayed for just Kid's presentation and you could see that Kid was not impressed (or it didn't appear that way). This was a high honor in a very political town and on stage he was sitting amongst family of legends in the music industry and Dolly & Charlie (living legends by their own rights). Slurring "I love you, Bobby!" while he stood in front of family & friends, the governor of Tennessee, and the mayor, along with all the hosts was fitting for one of his concerts, not this small intimate ceremony. 3. It was an amazing scene on a beautiful day and we were honored to be able to be present!!! Thanks for all the support while on the trip. Enjoy the pictures. Peace & love.

Yeah...Kid isn't quite the personality he was 20 yrs ago, nor who some believe him to be. I noticed a long time ago, that when he's tending to serious biz...it's serious biz, nothing else. An honor such as this, as you said...being among legends, in what I also know to be a very political city related to music biz, honors, awards, etc....he would've taken very serious indeed...I don't imagine he did appreciate the distractions by screaming fans.

He doesn't appreciate rudeness towards others EVER. I've noticed him being not impressed by some obscene behavior of women in front of him at concerts too, especially the last 5 yrs or so.

In his younger & wilder day not a problem...but he's matured and refined in many ways over the years...the classy businessman side of his personality is prevailing more & more with age...which is only natural with most when we 'grow up', hahaha. :)

First of all - Great pictures! What a truly amazing moment to be able to see.

Kind of off subject but this story popped into my head when you said he was being booed.

Over the summer I went to Navhille for the CMA music festival, where Kid Rock showed up as the "suprise" guest. (it was suppose to be a suprise, but the host told everyone the night before.) But the next day I was talking to the group of people in my section at the festival about how excited I was Kid Rock was their. I was wearing my made in detroit shirt to show my support, and got a few negative comments. Well about 10-15 people in the section were bad talking Kid Rock saying how he wasn't country and shouldn't be there and how they might leave once his performance starts.

Well I ignored them because I knew what a great artist he was. I left my seat before he came out to go into a photo line (where I got lucky and got to watch his entire set front row!) But the next day I come back and everyone who was putting down his music said they were blown away by how much they liked his performance and how much support and cheers he got from a country music festival. They did admit they were quick to judge and the whole time I had that " I told you so" smile on my face!

Sorry it was off topic...I just wanted to share my Nashville/Kid Rock story.

Great story, Katie and similar situation to what we experienced this weekend. I believe he is in to stay and will take the snide remarks and under-their-breath sneers.

I agree Connie! He takes these events in life serious, that is why he has come so far... and will continue on his journey. I uploaded a video and reviewed it, noting it was sideways -- lol! Best to you and please pass on to KevRock/Kevin my best wishes at this time. I don't know him well enough to send messages, without appearing to be a "kevrock chick". I've thouroughly enjoyed watching his blogging here, along with other "original" members, and introduced myself to him at Paradime's concert a few weeks ago. I, too, will buy Paradime's album this winter and I've downloaded his recent release. Dime has never been just a DJ to me.

Oh, hahaha. Don't you worry about being called a "kevrock chick"...you be yourself and say whatever you want to say to any one, including Kevin! I'm sure he would appreciate any positive comments or messages from you directly. The only way to get to know someone is to converse one on one. :)

Kevin's dominate internet personality is 'Kevrock'...the internet is his stage, and he's quite the entertainer when he's in the mood to be. In real life he's 'Kevin'...a loving proud dad, a loyal friend, respectful son...and he's trying to survive & struggling like most of us. Sometimes the Kevrock and Kevin personalities merge on line and in real life, haha. It's like Kid Rock...there is the Kid Rock stage personality & public celeb...then there is Bob Ritchie, the quieter private man off the stage.

Those of us who 'get him'...don't mind being dubbed a "kevrock chick" or "groupie"...it's those who don't 'get him', that lose and miss out on knowing someone truly priceless...be it Kevrock, Kevin, or both. :)

No, I don't consider Paradime, aka Dime...just a simple 'DJ' either...far from it. I don't consider any member of TBT a simple musician...they all have such amazing talents beyond what we see when they're on stage performing with Kid. Though I don't know any of them personally (with exception of Kenny Olson, I do know him personally)...from what I witness and know of...they each are wonderfully amazing people too.

I keep Kevin and Dime in my prayers, hoping both of their musical passions and dreams will someday be all they want and need. :)
