Recently, Chad Smith from Red Hot Chilli Peppers was interviewed by Cities 97's radio station and talked about the fact he was going to play on Kid Rock's new album."I'm going to start Kid Rock's new album. Today is the first day. (October 13th 2009)Rick Rubin's producing it and he's like you've gotta play on this, he's got great songs... So I'm going over to do that and then till 4 o'clock and then at 4.30 I'm going to start rehearsing with the Chili Peppers, so..I'm woorrKKING!!"

I love Chad Smith. With the Chili Peppers, Bombastic Meatballs and Chickenfoot. He's great. But doesn't Kid Rock have a drummer already? Fuck bringing in outside musicians. Use the top notch band you have. Give them some long overdue credit...
I agree. I never understood why he began using studio musicians over TBT. TBT is the best of the best. I suppose there may be a justified reason for using studio musicians, but I sure can't think of any.
It sucks knowing I listen to RRJ and TBT is not the band behind the music I'm hearing...truly it sucks. :(

seriously?? I totally never realized this... that does suck! why have his own band if he isn't going to use them? and whats the point of using a different drummer over Stef, she's totally fabulous. That makes me kinda sad.
Maybe the band doesn't want to do it for some reason? they have other projects? who knows.
:-(
Yeah, I dunno. Most of TBT were the musicians on the CD's through Pain Train I think. It appears RRJ is the first CD Kid used a variety of other musicians, including known studio musicians...though I think TBT are the musicians on some tracks...not really sure, just remember much talk when RRJ was being recorded that Kid was using studio musicians for some tracks...including 'So Hott', 'All Summer Long', etc..
