Add another rocker to country's biggest night , with Kid Rock set to join the lineup for the Nov. 11 CMA Awards, the CMA tells PEOPLE.
The five-time Grammy nominee joins such previously announced genre-crossers Dave Matthews and Daughtry. The show is set to air on ABC next Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET.
Kid Rock will perform a duet with four-time CMA nominee Jamey Johnson and will also present an award. The rap rocker is no stranger to the CMAs – last year, he performed his country hit "All Summer Long," and in 2003 was nominated along with Sheryl Crow for vocal event of the year for their song "Picture."
Martina McBride will also join the list of show performers, who already include Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney and show co-hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood. Newly announced presenters include Kris Kristofferson, Lee Ann Womack and the Judds.
wow Connie u have had a very good life i would say, in meeting awesome people....u have meet some very kool people from what i c... and yeah Kris he's hottttttttt
Yes, I have been very blessed indeed with many wonderful people crossing my paths in life...and some not so wonderful people too, hahaha.
There is a story behind the photo, someday possibly I'll write a short story about it. I'll tell ya this much...when confronted with right or wrong...Kris is a true gentleman at heart. If I had known what I know today...the ending to that night would've been different I do believe, haha. :)
Now I'm reflecting on paths crossed, haha. As far as celebrities, well...my career is partially responsible for the opportunity to have met many over the years in a variety of arts & career fields.
Without going downstairs & flipping through photo albums to remember, off the top of my head, as far as Country Music related celebrities, I've met & hung with the following:
Tim McGraw
Martina McBride
Shania Twain
Toby Keith
Big n Rich
Chris LeDoux (RIP)
Mark Chestnut
Tanya Tucker
Garth & Sandy Brooks (the first Mrs. now an X)
Dwight Yokam
Patty Loveless
Gary Allan
Chely Wright
All of Sawyer Brown
The Mavericks
Andy Griggs
Joe Diffie
Tracy Lawrence
Ricky Van Shelton (who is somewhat considered a friend)
Little Texas (no longer together)
Kentucky Headhunters (no longer together)
Trace Adkins
Tracy Byrd
They are? Last I knew, which was admittingly a few years back...they weren't. The brothers Doug and shoot, can't think of the other's name...had went out on their own...the group dis-assembled.
Not being a big fan of Country Music since many changes began taking place in the 90's...I've not kept up on who's who currently. Thanks for letting me know Dylan. :)
I forgot Clint Black, Aaron Tippin, Charlie Pride, Alabama, etc..
I had the honor of attending the CMA Awards, I think it was in 1992, the year President Bush SR. was there, and also attended some of the after parties, such as RCA's at their building in Nashville...which is where I met & partied with Alabama members. Randy Owen jammed my camera trying to take a pic of Aaron Tippin doing something, hahaha. Aaron Tippin felt bad, so he tried to fix it for me, such a gentleman. I was feeling pretty good that night, a bit too much to drink no doubt about it, hahaha. Oh the memories of by gone days, lol.
Clint Black by the way...I thought when meeting him was an snobbish asshole. He's really the only celeb I've ever met I thought that of...most have been very nice & fun to be around.
