Hey Jess,
My name is Christy nice to meet you,I have a 2 year old Yorkshier Terrier His name is Doc. Hudson,
We just call him Hudson,I had a 8 yr.old Boxer we lost him in 2007,he was the greatest ever!
Oh and bye the way I am a waitress..
I am a hypnotherapist who also incorporates the use of Quantum Touch. I work with behavioral changes like stop smoking, weight loss, fears, phobias, specializing in working with children and law students preparing for the Bar Exam. I also teach HypnoBirthing classes, teach at the local college for the community education dept. all things related to hypnosis. I have a blast with people who want to explore past lives. Another fun part is I give talks regarding the myths and truth regarding hypnosis. Right now I have taken time off because of some past medical issues and I am now moving to another part of the state. I will probably re-open my office unless I find something more interesting to do. I have been doing this since 1997. Before that I owned a cafe in a small southwestern town in Minnesota. I was the only cook/baker.
It was in Granite Falls (3,000 peeps). Between Wilmar, Marshall and Montevideo. Left because my grandmother died. That was why I was there. Helping my grandmother after my grandfather died and hoping to get my son away from influences here in So. Cal. Didn't work. He still got into a shit load of trouble. But, I do miss it, a lot.
LOL....I work at a hospital & assign numeric codes to diagnosis that dr gives & then it goes to billing dept & is sent out to medicare, insurance comp etc. basically what I assign by what dr has documented determines how much $$$ hospital gets. There is a coding system for this & each dx has it's own reimbursement $$ amt.
Is it ICD-9's, or CTP's or something? Ah.. know a lil bit about that... I work in a Drug n Alcohol / Mental Health Outpatient Clinic
I started as a D/A group billing coordinator.. I'd bill using DSM codes, insurance like to call them CTP's, the majority of the billing is to Medical Assistant offices, Medicare, and then private ins.
Moved up to compliance manager for a lil while, overseeing the documentation of the therapists... until now we just got hit with a downsizing, and we are going into all electronic charts, so a lot of jobs (the middlemen) have been eliminated. Now, I'm up front and I greet and take copays.. not where I wanna be, it's disappointing, and a smack in the face since I've been told how great of a biller I am, but billing has moved to headquaters an hour away, and receptionist is less desirable for me..... the less interaction with the clients and more on accounting area is where I'd rather be. I don't know how many times I have to quote Melvin in Office Space....eeeehhhh but okay.. then I burn the building down.
They say I have a great personality and since the other chick they had up there rolled her eye's at our 'sick' clients.. they wanted me up there because they knew I was proffessional.
blah blah blah... I already knew that..ha
All good tho... I'm adapting well to the new position.. not really bitching about it.. b/c right now I should be just happy to have a jobby job.
the positive look.. it gives me open opportunity to think about future, def. gotta be doing something you love, if at all possible.
Yep ICD9 & CPT!! I've been in this field for almost 20yrs now..Holy shit that makes me sound old!! LOL I started out in med records pulling charts part time while i went to college for Health Information Mgmt. From there started working at hospital & learned how to code inpt/outpt records...did that for 3 yrs and then took my National Board test & here I am today still coding!! I love it. I work at a small rural hospital so it's great!!
I don't like to "interact" with the public peeps coming in.....they can be so damn rude & I want to smack them. So it's good I'm in my own office not dealing with them. It takes someone who can handle all that well in order to do that kind of work. More power to ya girl.
Sounds like your job is way more indepth.. and it's where I'd rather be.. fer sure.
My brain is like mush working in the front...blah I'd rather look at dx codes all day..ha
